Photodynamic therapy has been used for several years to treat actinic keratoses and to prevent invasive non-melanoma cancers. It can also be used to treat sun damaged skin and cystic acne caused by sebaceous gland overproduction. Levulan PDT has been shown to be very effective in aggressively treating moderate to severe acne with long-lasting results.
